Chromasens pushes Machine-Vision to the Next Level with the allPIXA evo 32k

As a proud member of the Spectronet cluster, it is a pleasure to spotlight our cluster partner Chromasens — a company that continues to set the benchmark for high-speed, high-precision line scan vision — with its latest flagship camera, the Chromasens allPIXA evo 32k. This new monochrome line scan camera is designed for the most demanding inspection environments, where micron-level accuracy and uncompromising throughput come together.

Why the allPIXA evo 32k matters

Chromasens has long been recognized as one of the world’s leading developers of line-scan cameras, LED line lighting, and customized OEM vision solutions for surface inspection, quality control, and industrial machine vision. With the allPIXA evo 32k, Chromasens extends this legacy substantially. The camera integrates a state-of-the-art CMOS sensor, embedded real-time image processing, and a high-bandwidth CoaXPress-12 interface — delivering both exceptional image quality and stable performance even at very high line rates.

Specifically, the 32k sensor provides 32,768 pixels of resolution and supports line rates up to 80 kHz (or up to ~73 kHz at full resolution, depending on configuration).

The sensor comprises dual 16k arrays with 5 µm pixel size, arranged with a half-pixel offset to maximize detail — an arrangement that enables detection of extremely small defects with sub-pixel precision.

Moreover, the 4× CoaXPress-12 interface delivers the bandwidth needed to handle the large data streams without bottlenecks. Total throughput can exceed 50 Gbps when all lanes are used, ensuring stable, low-latency, high-speed data transfer.

Designed for the Toughest Inspection Tasks

The allPIXA evo 32k isn’t just about raw resolution — it’s built for demanding industrial inspection workflows where speed, reliability, and defect detection matter. Typical application areas include:

  • Semiconductor wafer and PCB inspection, where detecting sub-micron defects is critical

  • Battery electrode inspection and flat-panel display inspection, where uniformity and microscopic flaw detection are essential for yield and quality control

  • High-speed web or foil inspection, printing, packaging — production lines that cannot compromise on throughput while requiring tight quality inspection standards

Real-time embedded image processing reduces system load and optimizes data flow, enabling integration into high-performance production lines without sacrificing stability or latency.

Another big advantage: because the allPIXA evo 32k is fully GenICam and GigE-Vision / CoaXPress compatible, and because Chromasens supports flexible configuration (trigger modes, external encoder inputs, long cable runs, standard lens mounts), integration into existing vision systems is made far easier and more cost-effective than designing a custom camera solution from scratch.

What This Means for Our Spectronet Members

For companies in our network — especially those working in electronic manufacturing, battery and EV supply chains, semiconductor production, or automated quality control — the allPIXA evo 32k brings several strategic advantages:

  • Higher yield and fewer defects: By catching sub-pixel defects that older or lower resolution systems might miss, production yield and quality rise.

  • Faster throughput + reliability: The blend of high resolution, real-time processing and high line rates supports high-speed production without sacrificing inspection accuracy.

  • Future-proof performance: As manufacturing standards tighten (for semiconductors, PCBs, battery foils, etc.), having a camera system designed for next-generation inspection tasks helps stay ahead of the curve.

  • Lower integration risk: Because of its compatibility and flexible interface, integrating the allPIXA evo 32k is far less risky and costly than building a custom solution from scratch.

In Summary

The launch of the Chromasens allPIXA evo 32k is more than just a next-generation camera. It is a powerful enabler for companies seeking the highest standards of quality, speed and reliability in industrial inspection — especially in sectors where even the smallest defect can have major consequences. As part of the Spectronet cluster, we are proud to partner with Chromasens and look forward to seeing how this cutting-edge technology will support innovation, performance and competitiveness across our network.
