The story of XIMEA begins in 1992, when engineers founded Softhard Technologies to commercialize technologies developed at the Russian Academy of Sciences, focusing on real-time signal processing and image acquisition. Over the following years, the company expanded its expertise in advanced camera systems, frame grabbers, and high-speed imaging technologies.
In 2010, the business evolved into what is now known as the XIMEA Group, with XIMEA GmbH established in Münster, Germany, as the company’s sales and marketing hub. Shortly afterward, XIMEA Corp. was founded in the United States, expanding the company’s global reach.
