More than 100 photonics specialists and interested users from 7 European countries met on the 29th and 30th of August 2018 for the JENCOLOR SpectroNet Collaboration Conference in Jena. This event has been organized by the SpectroNet Cluster for 11 years. SpectroNet is a internationally operating cluster for developers and users of photonic measurement technology for the quality assurance, based in Jena and Thuringia.
During the two days, the specialists and users were offered an extensive program. More than 50 lectures and an 11 industrial exhibition offered an insight into the spectrum of photonic measurement technology for quality assurance. The participants came from renowned institutes, world-famous companies and also from startups. Every 10 minutes a researcher or industry representative spoke about the latest developments, products and services. The focus this year of the JENCOLOR SpectroNet Collaboration Conference in Jena was on the mobile application of photonic measurement technology for quality assurance. This refers to the convergence of photonic sensors and systems with mobile technologies such as smartphones and smart pads. This convergence enables completely new applications on increasingly cost-effective platforms.
Mobile photonic sensors and systems are urgently needed in many areas of life for rapid quality control, digitization and automation of many processes that no human being can perform by himself.
