Since its foundation in 1991, the Technologie- und Innovationspark Jena has supported and promoted more than 280 young, technology-oriented companies in the fields of nanotechnology and microsystems technology, sensors and optics, communications and software development as well as medical and environmental technology.

The ideas and company profiles range from the automatic production of aspheric lenses and the microfabrication of superconducting sensors to the development of hardware and software systems in virtual factories, as well as miniaturised technical solutions for chemical environmental analysis, new optical measurement technology and completely new medical technology solutions for the production of patient-specific implants.

After a successful start-up phase in the Technology and Innovation Park Jena, more than 100 companies have already established their own headquarters in Jena or the Saale-Holzland-Kreis and created more than 1.500 qualified jobs and thus had a lasting impact on the development of the commercial centers in the technology region Jena.
